For Caramel Cake Layers:
3/4 cup (170g) butter, softened at room temperature
1 1/2 cups (300g) white granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
14-ounce can (396g) dulce de leche, softened
1 1/3 cups (315ml) milk
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons (16g) baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
For Salted Caramel Buttercream:
2 cups (453g) butter; softened at room temperature
14-ounce can (396g) dulce de leche
1/4 teaspoon salt
14-ounce can (396) dulce de leche, for filling
For Sugar Garnish:
1 cup (200g) white granulated sugar
1/2 cup (118ml) water
